Person of Note - Louis Armstrong Postcard

After arranging the components of this postcard and in ally being happy with their position, I realised that because I had rotated them, there were some white spaces at the edges of my postcard where the drawing had ended. I used the patch tool to fix this instead of rearranging the pieces.

This is the pattern I have decided to use for this postcard. It was based on a song I listened to where both of them were singing. The paler lines show Ella's singing voice and the heavier lines show the deepness of Louis' voice.

I had high hopes for using this pattern but it just isn't working in this composition. It makes the background too busy whether it is dark or light and I find it distracting. It is particularly misleading around Louis' hand and Ella's face.

I tried this instead.

I think this is better because it is less busy and it's softer but it doesn't have the same meaning as the previous pattern.

I also like this pattern because it seems upbeat and happy. I am thinking of combing the two to have a similar idea behind it as the first pattern.

I like these together but still felt like they were misleading around ella's face so I added in a ow opacity rectangle to make her stand out more. I think this is successful because it shows the two different voices through pattern and both of the faces are clear as well.
