I did some general research into Christmas card designs using Pinterest, just to get some ideas flowing. A lot of them were heavily shape driven which I thought fitted well well with the college's current design for their website and promotional material.
I took a look at the college website and screen grabbed some areas which I thought could inspire some shape driven, angular work. I think this will help me to make a designate that will fit in well with the other college promotional materials. Everything looks crisp and clean and any examples expressive mark are also contained within a geometric shape.
I took some time to look at the image that the marketing sent out with the brief as well because this might be a good insight into what they are looking for. I am confused about the situation with the envelope because this example has a decorated envelope with extra details like the chord and bell. However on the brief it says the card needs to fit inside an A5 envelope, suggesting that the envelopes will be provided. I need to look over the brief and figure out the restrictions and requirements of what they are asking me to do.
