I watched the movie 'Up' (again) over Christmas and thought this montage of Carl and Ellie's married life was a really beautiful example of story telling. It is subtle in evoking emotion the the lack of dialogue emphasises the connection they have with one another. I thought this was relevant to my book because I want my book to get across a sad and cruel story but in a subtle way which makes people think rather than shock them. I will have to put a lot of thought into each of my images to make sure my story and message are clear as I am aiming to avoid the use of dialogue as well.
