Working on Sting

This is my sting so far, I am putting it together in stages depending on the amount of components I have ready. I thought this was better than making everything and then aiming to make the animation in a short amount of time because this puts a lot more pressure on it going right first time and gives me less time to change things if anything goes wrong. I am glad I completed a mock up animation over christmas because I am basically copying every single movement, just with finished components rather than block shapes. Obviously I am taking extra care this time to make sure everything moves smoothly because I want this to look professional when completed. I am pleased with how this has gone so far and I am surprised it didn't take me as long as I thought.

So far the animation looks calm and structured, there are no sudden movements and things seem to be flowing well. I think it will be the music and the addition of the vines that will give the sting a darker undertone.

The next steps for me are to:
  • Add the music - I may have to do some more tweaking to the movements to make sure they are happening in sync to the music.
  • Use a Wacom tablet to draw out the strings and vines which are going to be tangling the chess pieces up into a complicated mess.
  • I am also planning on using a Wacom tablet to produce some had drawn type for the ending where Christie's name appears.
  • I need to reconsider my use of colour in the sting because I had initially planned for the only colour to be the red text at the end, but now red isn't appearing in any of my prints so I will need to change the use of colour to make sure the link between my animation and my prints is clear.
