Moving Flowers
I was originally going to linocut some flowers but since doing my five prints, I can see now that there is no need because I can just select the ones I want from my existing imagery. I think that this will also benefit linking the animation and my prints together because there will be clear visual elements that cross over both. When selecting the flowers, I have kept some of the extra lines and marks caused by the lino printing process because it keeps it looking authentic.
Border
I took the same approach with the border by selecting individual flowers and arranging them so they fit around the central oval shape. This took a long time to get the arrangement right and so that each element had its own breathing space and everything looked evenly spread out. When i'd got to half way, I copied everything and rotated it to fit the top which saved a lot of time, then I just had to fill in the gaps. I briefly experimented with making this a different colour or inverting it but decided it was best to keep it the way that my prints will look so that they work together.
Chess Pieces
I have scanned and briefly edited the lino prints I did of the chess pieces and have added them in to my animation to give a vague idea of movement. However they are not fully prepared as I need to add the vines and string still.
I know I haven't left this entirely to the last minute but I am starting to wish I had started the making of my components for the final sting earlier on. Things are going well so far but I am feeling under pressure now, especially with work for other modules building up as well.
