The Folio Society - Andrew Davidson

During my research I came across some work that Andrew Davidson has done in relation to Agatha Christie.

I think I can take inspiration from the colours used in these book covers because they use a limited palette which is what my later outcomes need to do as well. The atmosphere in the images are mysterious as there is not a clear action or event taking place so the viewer is left questioning what is going on before they have even started to read the book.

I found that his work is more based on people as if he has taken scenes from the books and translated this into image using Agatha Christie’s description. This is quite a different approach to the work of Tom Adams, the original cover illustrator for Christie, because he focuses on objects and clues which I feel is similar to what I have been doing so far.
