In this tutorial, my worries about the street art idea were agreed with and this confirmed for me that this is not the best direction to take this project. People were interested in the idea of religious locations and well known pilgrimage sites and this is the idea I am currently leaning towards. They particularly liked the arial shot of Mecca which I am pleased was recognisable in my rough. I think if I continue with this idea I will try to make the images quite abstract and based on simple shapes to fit in with the Adobe Illustrator requirement for this brief. My other idea was about songs with cities in the title and although I received some old feedback about this, I have a feeling that the postcards may be overcomplicated by trying to illustrate the lyrics to get across the idea of the city and I know that a complex image will be challenging to get right on Illustrator.
I have tried to be decisive in this project because I often spend a lot of time deciding things in the ideas stage giving me less time to actually make the images. I am going ahead with the religious locations idea because I ring this topic interesting to read about and I think there is plenty of mileage in this idea and a lot of recognisable imagery I could work with. I will research the locations and find the ones that will be most recognisable, start drawing more exhaustively and continue to make roughs for compositions.
