Secret 7 - Brief Analysis

'Secret 7” takes 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and presses each one 100 times to 7” vinyl. We then invite creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style for every 7”. 700 sleeves are exhibited and then sold for £50 apiece. You don’t know who created the sleeve, or even which song it’s for, until you have parted with your cash - the secret lies within.'

What is the problem?
Seven track need to be interpreted into vinyl sleeves without the name of the track or artist present.

How do I aim to solve the problem?
I aim to take an abstract approach so the outcomes aren't too representative of the song's name or artist, it needs to still be a mystery whats inside. Mark making to music.

What will I be aiming to communicate?
My interpretation of the tracks. The meaning behind the song or an element of the music, there needs to be a connection between the songs and the visuals.

Who is my audience?

People who are into music, people who collect vinyls, people interested in unique artwork.
